MEET THE ARTIST
Works from the series “INVESTIGATION OF SIGNAL RADIATION”
by Igor Sacharow-Ross
Welcome drinks and meet the artist
Igor Sacharow-Ross is an artist who thinks and works in a universal manner. His works radiate a magic that is scarcely put into words, pointing metaphorically beyond the visible. For more than 60 years, even before his expulsion from the USSR, Igor Sacharow-Ross has been intensively engaged with acoustic approaches in art. He develops complex spatial sound installations and sound collages, creating sound objects that have become central elements of numerous international exhibition projects.
His works combine spatial perception and sound to create immersive experiences that blur the boundaries between visual art, music and installation. In addition to the exhibition of his works at the Casa da Cultura and the Municipal Museum of Marvão, on view throughout the Festival period, the artist has prepared the special performance “Klangwerk for Cello and Full Moon”, which the public will be able to attend on 29 July, at 23:00, in the Cistern of Marvão Castle.
