MARTA PEREIRA DA COSTA
MARTA PEREIRA DA COSTA, Portuguese guitar
JOÃO JOSÉ PITA JÚNIOR, 7-string guitar
Historically, the Portuguese guitar has always been associated with man, as a musician and mainly confined to Fado, as a language. The project by artist Marta Pereira da Costa breaks with these roots, and presents the Portuguese guitar as a voice.
Live, the Portuguese guitar travels through the most traditional sounds such as fado and Portuguese music, but follows different paths such as jazz, Cape Verdean mornas, Brazilian chorinho or world music in general.
Marta performs in Duo, and her Portuguese guitar is accompanied by João José Pita Junior on the 7-string guitar. They present songs from the new album and revisit old songs among other hits: Verdes Anos & Summertime, Terra, Encontro, Minha Alma, Dia de Feira, Fado Lopes, etc.
The audience is invited to embark on a journey of sounds and emotions, where the Portuguese guitar is the star and voice, in an interpretation guided by Marta’s sensitivity and delicacy, but also intense, strong and dynamic, surprising and gripping the audience until the last chord. Each performance is always a unique, unforgettable and unrepeatable moment.
