Maestro Christoph Poppen, founder and Artistic Director of the Marvão International Music Festival, features in a recent special report by SIC Notícias, focusing on internationally renowned figures who have chosen the Alentejo as a place to live and create.
In his interview, Christoph Poppen reflects on how Marvão became part of his life — or, as he puts it in the programme, how Marvão found him. He also speaks about the origins of the Festival and the wish to bring music to this extraordinary place, as a way of giving something back to the local community and to the Alentejo region.
“With all this perfection, the only thing missing was music.”
The report also features other international voices from the worlds of art and culture, including Ai Weiwei, Philippe Starck and Debbie Pappyn, sharing their perspectives on living and creating in Portugal.
